Resilience

Looking at the wildflowers around our swing set today, I heard Yahweh say “Resilience “. I’ve pondered on this all afternoon.

Wildflowers are my favorite.

Not just because they are the first signs of spring ushering in a very welcomed warmth, but because of their resilience.

Not in the rebellious sense, but resilient with a silent, humble strength. I’ve noticed it’s always the purple ones that show up first. The color of royalty. As if knowing what they are draws them out of the darkness of the soil and into the light.

And they’re always in a crowd. You don’t see them trying to make it on their own. Instead, their roots are intertwined and helping each other grow while simultaneously amending the soil where they’ve been planted. Unity on display.

Then I can’t help but marvel where my own feet are planted. My backyard transforms into holy ground when my vision aligns with the frequency of beauty. It builds something resilient within me – yet I find myself becoming softer, meeker, and gentler in the reality of being loved steadfastly by the One who beckons me to His face. Like a wildflower, I’m forever birthed into Spring. Into a wild union that I didn’t have to earn my way into, but was built into my DNA. To be resilient is to be eternally postured in remembrance where nothing can sway me from this truth.

I’m taking it all in. The colors, the wind, the fragrance, the beauty. Creation is singing and displaying the better Way. And it’s all such good, good news.
